Sweet Patch the Pirate!

Saturday March 25th sweet Patchy reached is 1 year ampuversary 🙂  He is still doing very well and as I say in each post we are so blessed to have him in our lives.  We continue to live in the moment each day with him!  Smothering him with kisses and belly rubs at every chance!

Everyday with our babies is a celebration but on this special day we started out with scrambled eggs and sausage.  Followed by a ride to our favorite camping spot where he hopped along with his other pack buddys playing in the snow and mud puddles.

That evening was a celebration dinner of more sausages and sirloin steak, finished off with homemade unsweetened whipped cream!

A year ago I was very sad and heart broken and thanks to the love and support of the wonderful community (especially you Sally) has helped me to celebrate each moment and live with encouragement and hope.  Without you all I don’t know how I would have come this far!

We lost my sweet moby suddenly and unexpectedly recently and even through that loss the love and support from this community has helped me put one foot in front of the other each day through that grief.

I send heartfelt love and thanks to all of you as we continue on in this journey!  We will keep you posted on Patchy and everyone!  Much love – Summer, Patchy and Pack

10 Months and still Hopping along strong!

Sweet Patchy
Lovin the snow
Baby Sailor – Such a joy!

Today is sweet Patchy’s 10 month ampuversary!  He is still happy and enjoying life!

This time last year was pretty bleak as we had just lost teddy bear and patchy was limping with a very sore and swollen leg 🙁

We wrestled for weeks about what to do and today we are so glad that we found this site and gave him a chance with amputation.   We weren’t given much encouragement about that due to his size but 10 months later he is a happy chupy! no pain and enjoying a life filled with love and belly rubs.  He is even managing the snow right now(we have 3 feet since last Thursday.) He loves the snow as most St’s do 🙂

Tonight will be a celebration of him with petite bacon wrapped sirloin, grilled chicken and for dessert one of his favorites, homemade whipped cream plain with no sugar added 🙂

Again I am so grateful for all of you precious friends, supporters and cheerleaders for us and our sweet Patchy.  Wish I could meet every one of you!

Here’s to you my precious Patchy and many more ampuversarys to come.  I love you my sweet boy!

Honoring Sweet Teddy Bear, Patchys Daddy

Today I want to honor my sweet sweet teddy bear!  He crossed over the bridge one year ago tomorrow of osteosarcoma.

Unfortunately at that time we were very misinformed about giant breeds and amputation and not aware until it was way too late, of the wonderful tripawds community and all the wisdom that is here.  If we had been more aware of options we could have done more for him and he would have suffered less.  The suffering he endured is nothing that I ever want to go through again.

Teddy bear and buddy Moby

He truly was the sweetest Saint I have ever had and the connection between the two of us is nothing like I have ever experienced before in a pup.  Though I have had many pups in my life ours was a bond that many did not understand.  He was my constant companion and my fierce protector.

I miss his presence so much but I also feel him near, I can still smell his fur and

he comes to me in my dreams and I know that he is ok and just waiting for me at the bridge.   Many tears still fall for him, as they are now, when I remember the wonderful times that he and I shared.

So my precious Teddy Bear today I honor you and the wonderful memories we shared.  You are in my thoughts daily and in my heart forever!  We will meet again!  I love you my sweet sweet boy!

I wanted to take a moment to say Merry Christmas from Patchy to all of our very special friends at tripawds!  It is hard to believe that on Christmas day it will be patchy’s 9 month ampuversary!

We are so grateful that he is still with us and is doing so well.  The support and love we get from this community is so amazing without you this journey would be so much harder.

We wish you all a wonderful holiday season, and send much love to you all!
